Place of Refuge

Place of Refuge National Park is on the Kona Coast area of the Big Island of Hawaii. This is a shore dive and probably the most beautiful and best dive of all the dives on our trip to the islands. There is an easy entrance of lava rock steps and once in the water it is fantastic. They say this area has a special spiritual energy - I don't know about that, but the dive was kind of magical! We saw a lot of green sea turtles, wonderful coral "fields", and nearby snorkelers were swimming with dolphins. Oh happy day. SuburbSouth of Kona
