Merimbula Wharf Shore Dive
Submitted by gracer on Mon, 2006-07-24 13:52.
If the tide and surge are just right the entry and exit are easy using the rock ledges. The rocky wall and bottom near the shore (to about 11m) mean there isn't a lot of silt and generally good visibility.

Drive east on Main Street from the middle of town. After about 1km, it will split into Lake Street on your right and Cliff on your left. Drive to the very end of Lake Street, about another 1km until you come to the Aquarium Wharf cark park (in the satellite view on the left).
The entry point is an easy 100m walk across a rock shelf. In the satellite map, it's a lone rock platform just southwest of the cark park. There is a small "cable attachment" point embedded in the rock. It's not a bad idea to bring a rope and tie it there to ease exit. (Zoom out for a better view of the area.)
